On Monday, 31 December 2012, in the evening at 17:30, in Kaunas, on J. Basanavičiaus al. near No. 57/3, a Ford S-MAX hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 58-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Ford (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties and failed to obey traffic-control signals.
