On Thursday, 3 January 2013, in the evening at 17:30, in Šiauliai, on Gytarių street, at the junction with Gegužių street, an Audi A4 registered in Belgium hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 25-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Audi (23 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
