On Tuesday, 8 January 2013, in the afternoon at 16:57, in Kaunas, on Varnių street near No. 36, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Saab 9-3 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Saab (28 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober.
