On Thursday, 10 January 2013, in the evening at 17:30, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 26), a Ford Transit FT 300 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Ford (36 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
