On Sunday, 27 January 2013, at night at 23:32, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl., at the junction with Debreceno street, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira, a BMW 525 and an Opel Astra Station Wagon. Three people were injured — a 20-year-old passenger of the Opel Zafira (hospitalized), the 39-year-old driver of the Opel Astra Station Wagon (treated as an outpatient) and a 26-year-old passenger of the Opel Astra Station Wagon (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Opel Zafira (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.51‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
