On Sunday, 6 January 2013, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kalvarijos municipality, on the Marijampolė–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 14), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
