On Monday, 4 February 2013, in the evening at 19:30, in Klaipėda, on Šilutės pl., at the junction with Baltijos pr., a BMW 523i ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
