On Sunday, 10 February 2013, in the evening at 17:47, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 126.70), a Nissan X-Trail rolled over. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Nissan (a citizen of Latvia) (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. A 34-year-old passenger of the Nissan was drunk (0.64‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
