On Wednesday, 13 February 2013, in the evening at 19:02, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 11.38), a Volkswagen Sharan hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (10 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene.
