On Friday, 15 February 2013, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Rietavo municipality, Medingėnų village, on Plungės street near No. 5, a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.23‰ blood alcohol).
