On Sunday, 17 February 2013, in the evening at 19:03, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 52.70), a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Nissan X-Trail and a Peugeot 206. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 42-year-old driver of the Nissan (21 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (1.88‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
