On Friday, 15 February 2013, in the afternoon at 16:10, in Jurbarko district municipality, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 108.27), a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (5 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.99‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
