On Tuesday, 19 February 2013, in the morning at 6:30, in Kauno city municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 4), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a DAF FA 95XF.380 registered in Poland, a Krone AZP16 registered in Poland and a Volkswagen Sharan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 53-year-old driver of the DAF (a citizen of Poland) (31 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
