On Friday, 1 March 2013, in the afternoon at 11:55, in Utenos district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 135.99), a Nissan Primera hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.16‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
