On Tuesday, 5 March 2013, in the afternoon at 15:15, in Plungės district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 626 and a Citroen. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
