On Sunday, 10 March 2013, in the afternoon at 15:20, in Širvintų district municipality, on the Paširvintys–Juodiškiai–Giedraičiai regional road (kilometre 17), an Audi Coupe ran off the road. Two people were injured — a 33-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Audi (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Audi, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.10‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
