On Monday, 18 March 2013, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr., at the junction with Kovo 11-sios street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 323 and a Nissan X-Trail. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 72-year-old driver of the Mazda (35 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
