On Friday, 22 March 2013, in the morning at 7:56, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street near No. 102, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316 and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 36-year-old driver of the BMW (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
