On Thursday, 28 March 2013, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Prienų district municipality, on the Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus national road (kilometre 19.70), a Volkswagen Passat rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.09‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
