On Saturday, 30 March 2013, at night at 4:08, in Vilnius, on Vilniaus street, at the junction with Klaipėdos street, at a pedestrian crossing, a BMW 316 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
