On Tuesday, 9 April 2013, in the morning at around 9:00, in Kaunas, on Gedimino street, at the junction with Miško street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a BMW 540. Two people were injured — the 45-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient) and a 62-year-old pedestrian (severely injured, hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (24 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
