On Sunday, 28 April 2013, in the evening at 20:37, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 304.70), a Renault Laguna ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Renault (30 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.94‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
