On Saturday, 4 May 2013, in the evening at around 22:00, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 188.90), an Opel Astra-G-Caravan registered in Poland hit an animal. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the Opel (25 years of driving experience), who failed to comply with road signs or markings and failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
