On Tuesday, 14 May 2013, in the morning at 8:31, in Jonavos district municipality, on Vasario 16-osios street near No. 4, a Seat Alhambra registered in Germany hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 77-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Seat (16 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
