On Tuesday, 14 May 2013, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Zarasų district municipality, on P. Širvio street near No. 12, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 405 and an Audi 100. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Peugeot, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.96‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
