On Saturday, 18 May 2013, in the evening at 18:35, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Dauparai–Gargždai–Vėžaičiai national road (kilometre 4.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Nissan Almera and an Opel Vectra. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.42‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
