On Saturday, 8 June 2013, in the evening at 19:15, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 42, a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 29-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing the carriageway in a built-up area outside a crossing where there is a median strip. He was drunk. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
