On Sunday, 9 June 2013, in the morning at around 5:00, in Radviliškio district municipality, on the Velžiai–Radviloniai–Maldžiūnai regional road (kilometre 7.85), a Volkswagen Golf ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.78‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. The Volkswagen had recorded faults (ratų). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
