On Sunday, 16 June 2013, in the afternoon at 15:32, in Kaunas, on Vaitiškės street near No. 3, a BMW 320 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.74‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
