On Tuesday, 18 June 2013, in the evening at 19:20, in Kretingos district municipality, on Savanorių street, at the junction with Savanorių street, a Ford Probe hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 47-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. She had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
