On Wednesday, 19 June 2013, in the morning at 7:55, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Saulažolių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 294.90), a Mercedes-Benz Vito 108 CDI registered in Russia ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 60-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (a citizen of Russia) (25 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
