On Sunday, 23 June 2013, at night at 0:13, in Plungės district municipality, on V. Mačernio street near No. 27, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 406, a Rover 75 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.81‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
