On Sunday, 23 June 2013, in the evening at 18:30, in Lazdijų district municipality, Barčiūnų village, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved an Audi A4 Avant and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Audi A4 Avant, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
