On Wednesday, 3 July 2013, at night at 2:01, in Plungės district municipality, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Notės street, a moped ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 17-year-old driver of a moped (hospitalized) and a 15-year-old passenger of a moped (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of a moped, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
