On Wednesday, 3 July 2013, in the afternoon at 12:30, in Kaišiadorių district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 87.24), on a bridge, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Lexus LS 460 and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Lexus (30 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 60 km/h.
