On Sunday, 7 July 2013, in the evening at 21:30, in Šilalės district municipality, Jakaičių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 232.19), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Sharan and a Mercedes-Benz CLK270. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
