On Tuesday, 9 July 2013, in the afternoon at 13:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 126.78), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 307, a Savos Gamybos Savos Gamybos and a Renault 19. Three people were injured — a 28-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient), the 71-year-old driver of the Renault (treated as an outpatient) and a 1-year-old passenger of the Renault (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt, was not in a child seat). The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Peugeot (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
