On Sunday, 14 July 2013, in the evening at 21:02, in Kaunas, on Ateities pl. near No. 77, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz E220, a Honda Civic, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 313 CDI, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 313 CDI registered in Poland and a bicycle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz E220 (a citizen of Kyrgyzstan) (16 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.35‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
