On Friday, 12 July 2013, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Zarasų district municipality, on the Dusetos–Degučiai–Dūkštas national road (kilometre 25.52), a Renault Megane Scenic hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Renault (8 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.58‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
