On Friday, 12 July 2013, in the evening at 19:30, in Zarasų district municipality, Štadvilių village, a BMW 318 hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 20-year-old passenger of the BMW (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet.
