On Friday, 19 July 2013, in the evening at 20:35, in Vilkaviškio district municipality, on the Marijampolė–Kybartai–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 33.20), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved an Opel Omega and a Honda Accord. Two people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Honda (treated as an outpatient) and a 28-year-old passenger of the Honda (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 65-year-old driver of the Opel (33 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober.
