On Saturday, 27 July 2013, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno district municipality, Kumpių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 104.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 730, a Volkswagen Sharan and a Mercedes-Benz Vito. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the BMW (14 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
