On Thursday, 1 August 2013, in the morning at 8:30, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Skuodas national road (kilometre 4), a Volkswagen Passat hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.82‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence.
