On Sunday, 4 August 2013, in the evening at 20:40, in Marijampolės municipality, on Antakalnio street near No. 19, a Seat Cordoba hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Seat (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.27‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
