On Thursday, 1 August 2013, in the morning at 9:23, in Kaunas, on Kovo 11-osios street near No. 98, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Peugeot 206 CC, a Citroen Jumper and a Renault Megane Scenic. One person died — a 82-year-old passenger of the Renault (later died from the injuries). Three people were injured — the 25-year-old driver of the Peugeot (treated as an outpatient), a 62-year-old passenger of the Renault (hospitalized) and the 38-year-old driver of the Renault (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Peugeot (5 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. She was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
