On Friday, 2 August 2013, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Savanorių pr. near No. 394, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. Five people were injured — the 46-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (treated as an outpatient), a 20-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient), a 75-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient), a 49-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and the 32-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (20 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
