On Saturday, 10 August 2013, in the evening at 21:15, in Šilalės district municipality, on J. Basanavičiaus street, at the junction with Maironio street, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW 525 and a Renault Laguna. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence and fled the scene.
