On Sunday, 11 August 2013, at night at 2:09, in Šiauliai, on Bačiūnų street near No. 61A, a Volkswagen Passat ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 25-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.52‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
