On Sunday, 11 August 2013, in the afternoon at 13:32, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 49), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Astra, an Audi A4 registered in Sweden, a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Opel (1 year of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober.
