On Saturday, 24 August 2013, in the evening at 21:35, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 127.60), a Volkswagen Sharan ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 25-year-old pedestrian, who committed traffic rule violations that contributed to the accident, was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest) and was walking on the carriageway where prohibited. She was drunk (2.10‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
